The Tigers maintain their lead in the AL Central with a 4-2 win over the Yankees . Justin Verlander reversed his poor start, pitching seven shutout innings, walking none and striking out nine. Verlanders strikeouts have been there all year, but with the great control the seven hits he allowed didnt hurt him that much. Sabathia did one thing well, he completed the game, saving the Yankees bullpen. Most nights, allowing four runs will get a Yankees pitcher a win, but not when Verlander was on.
