Jim Thome hit a three-run homer and John Danks worked efficiently into the seventh inning, helping the Chicago White Sox to a 5-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday night. 

Even without manager Ozzie Guillen, the Chicago White Sox continued their recent dominance over Detroit during the first two games of their current set with the Tigers. 

John Danks was so good on Wednesday night, White Sox catcher Toby Hall decided to stop calling curveballs. 

Though it wasn't exactly a Day of Infamy, Tuesday was a tough day to be a major league closer. 

The Detroit News reports Tigers reliever Joel Zumaya will serve as the team's closer for the time being. 

After a disappointing finish to their 10-game road trip, the Chicago White Sox opened their 10-game homestand in impressive fashion. 

Nick Swisher figured he had the night off.
